HINDRANCES TO RAISING THE DEAD
There are so many things that hinder us from praying for the dead and raising them. Let us take one after the other:
FEAR FOR THE DEAD
Fear for dead people is a common thing among men, anything that has no life is always a treat to the people. The fear that associated with the dead people comes from ages, and it always prevent some people from getting closer to the dead except the bold one.
The source of this fear can be associated with lack of love, and this fear for the dead is what is keeping most of our Christian from attempting to pray for the dead.
It is not an easy thing to intercede for someone you are afraid of, it takes love to intercede. You must have love and compassion for someone to intercede for him or her.
There is no fear in love as love and fear cannot go together, that is why you must love your neighbor as yourself. If you really love your neighbor, you will never be afraid of him or her even in dead.
Lack of real love brings fort fear and it will always create lack of trust and discord between you and your neighbor, it will also prevent you from praying for him or her when they are alive and after death.
Fear for the dead serve as number one hindrance to raising the dead, and this comes as a result of lack of true love for the dead while alive.
FEAR OF FAILURE
Lack of faith in the ability of God’s power in you will always create fear in you that can lead you to failure. Jesus said, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell mountain to move.
Lack of faith will always incur fear and from fear to failure. You need faith in the power of God and in yourself to raise the dead, Apostle Paul said, I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me.
Faith in God’s power in you is what will enable you to do all things even to raise the dead. Try to increase your faith in God’s power and the power of God in you, this will help you to cure fear of failure in your life.
OVERESTIMATING THE POWER OF DEATH
Sometimes we overestimate the power of death, we always see death as irreversible, and that if man dies he cannot come back to live again, some of us always rest on the scripture that says;
And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment: Heb 9:27.
It is true that man die ones and face judgment. But the case on the ground is that God Himself said that I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. We are talking about God mercy to live again, not all dead will live again but some have received mercy from God to live.
